My Formal Introduction

Everyone at The Swan Company has decided that I should stop hiding behind my massive computer screen and introduce myself to the world, well, to regular readers of this blog anyway.  So I have hi-jacked Maddie’s blog to bring you all ‘My Formal Introduction’.

Right, I hate talking about myself but hey-ho, I’ll give it a go!

I started working for The Swan Company on the 29th of March 2011; I started off on a three week trial, but it ended up as a permanent position!  A few days before I started I was really, really worried, a job as a trainee sales advisor was something I never imagined I’d be doing, but it’s funny how things pan out.  I was worrying that I’d be rubbish and that no-one would like me etc., I obviously didn’t know what environment I’d be walking in to!

On my first day I walked through the door and saw an average sized room with lots of desks, but only two people in it, (Maddie & Steve). I thought to myself this can’t be right, at my interview Margaret had mentioned a lot more people.  In fact, the number of people working in the office changes on a daily basis, and a lot more work remotely as well.

To be honest with you my first day was so long ago now I can’t even remember what happened, there was so much to take in.

I’ve been with The Swan Company just over 3 months now and I can’t quite believe it, it feels so much longer! I have really settled in, learnt lots of new skills as well as learning more about myself as a person.  Joining The Swan Company was one of the best things I’ve done, I’m so lucky to have Margaret as a boss and to have great work colleagues, even if everyone can be a bit bonkers from time to time!  I have started my NVQ course and am really getting in to all aspects of IT.  As my role develops within the company, I am hoping to be more involved in the IT and Systems Support role within the Sales Team. I’m very happy here; hopefully this is a sign of good things to come.
